Our work sits at the intersection of science, stewardship, and decision-making. We focus on projects where strong evidence, trust, and long-term thinking are essential.
Coastal Ecosystems Science
We carry out applied research and monitoring that supports understanding, stewardship, and recovery of aquatic ecosystems. Our work spans fish populations, watershed processes, and water quality, all leading toward informed restoration. We focus on community-based questions addressed through strong study design, defensible analysis, and scientifically robust results.
Project types and methods include, but are not limited to: salmon survival and life-history investigations using PIT-tag and acoustic telemetry; otolith microchemistry and other fisheries population monitoring approaches; watershed-scale water quality and ecosystem assessments across fluvial freshwater, lake, estuarine, and marine environments; and restoration planning and evaluation that links habitat actions to biological responses and learning over time.
Evidence to Action & Partnership
We help partners move from curiosity to clarity, and from insight to action. Our work often begins with collaborative exploration—surfacing the questions emerging within partner organizations and communities, shaping them into thoughtful project design, and determining whether they can be meaningfully answered. From there, we support funding development and, where possible, project implementation. Throughout, our focus is on making complex data understandable and communicating it clearly and honestly in ways that support real decisions.
This work spans study design and statistical analysis, interpretation and synthesis of results, and technical reporting that is rigorous, transparent, and grounded in context. Whether the objective is to inform stewardship planning, meet funding and reporting requirements, or support policy and management discussions, we prioritize clarity, credibility, and usefulness.
Strong relationships and local capacity are central to how we work. Wherever possible, we collaborate closely with partners to co-develop projects, strengthen proposals, and build internal monitoring, research, and analytical capacity—so knowledge, confidence, and momentum remain long after a project is complete.
