Who we are
All too often, communities find themselves with stewardship challenges that aren’t fully addressed through traditional consulting frameworks. The Coastal Ecosystems Research Collective was born out of a need to meet communities where they’re at. To meet real-world problems with real-world solutions, and conduct science that actually translates into solutions.
We are a collective of applied scientists and practitioners who believe research should serve people, ecosystems, and place — not the other way around.
Our roots are in salmon and freshwater science, but our approach is broader: careful listening, strong partnerships, and work that is technically rigorous and socially grounded.
We take on projects where trust matters, where long-term thinking is required, and where success is measured by outcomes.
